Sometimes people who would be good pet owners have family emergencies they have no control over, death and major illnesses, or the pet might have a medical problem that the new owner just cant handle. My family and I have been adopting from kill shelters for years and we have always adopted Seniors, sever abuse cases, etc. I would love to see a national DO NOT ADOPT TO registry! Truth is, special or not, a majority of the dogs dumped will never again know what it means to have a family, to play with a toy, to enjoy a treat.
